Peptide Fingerprinting and Tandem Mass Spectrometry

Abstract Identification of proteins by mass spectrometry relies on two major approaches:
Peptide Mass Fingerprinting
Partial Peptide Sequencing by Tandem Mass Spectrometry.
The results obtained from each of these approaches serve to interrogate protein or DNA sequence databases with dedicated algorithms .
