Dr. Weiss graduated 1979 in Chemistry from the Technical University of Berlin (Germany) and received his Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry 1982 from the same university. In 2000, Dr. Weiss was invited as Visiting Professor to lecture on the “Chromatography of Polar and Ionic Compounds” at the Leopold-Franzens University in Innsbruck (Austria). In 2002, Dr. Weiss habilitated in Analytical Chemistry at that university and, since then, is also teaching classes in chromatography in Innsbruck. In 1982, Dr. Weiss started to work for Dionex as an application chemist. He currently holds the position of a Technical Director in International Operations located in Idstein (Germany). Dionex is currently a part of Thermo Scientific. Dr. Weiss published more than 30 papers in reviewed scientific journals in the field of Ion Chromatography. His 3rd edition of the “Handbook of Ion Chromatography” was published in German (2001) and English (2004) by John Wiley and Sons.
